As reported in SupplySide, Dr. Paula Brown addressed a pressing issue many kratom users and suppliers are concerned about: product authenticity.
“It’s a pretty sad state of affairs when 30% of the kratom products don’t contain mitragynine,” she said, referring to a 2022 survey of 32 kratom products.
In another 2016 BCIT study, 7 of 15 tested products had no kratom in them at all.
These findings are a wake-up call for the industry and a reminder of why rigorous testing and responsible sourcing are not optional.
